Activity 1
I just read through Chapter 5 in the text Standard Cataloging for School and Public Libraries. I found it a hard read. As a learner I learn by example and by doing so reading through the text it was hard to understand. What I did get however was the fact that cataloging is very subjective. How one librarian may catalogue a book, another may catalogue it different regardless of all the rules. I can fully understand why some school districts have central book processing. It ensures that books are catalogued the same across the district.
